Handmade card technique

Here is a clever handmade card technique! I really love this card made by Lynda and the super easy technique she used to quickly add detail to this girl’s lovely dress.

She first printed the digital stamp onto white card stock paper and painted the hair, face and body with Copic markers. She also printed a second image of this girl onto a patterned scrapbook paper from the set French garden, then she simply fussy cut the dress from the pattern paper and layered it onto the original image, that way you will save a lot of time since you are using a pre-made pattern instead of painting the dress yourself.

The digital paper set used to make this card is French Garden by Lilmade Designs.

This adorable stamp is Prom Girl by Chi Chi Memories. I hope you liked this card! Please check Lynda’s blog to learn more about the techniques she used to make this project.

Happy crafting!

Ink and embossing powder swatches

Making my ink and embossing powder swatches with the Simon Says Stamp swatch book set. I really love this product, It comes with everything I need to create my own color books, and I believe I could also use the stamps to create a lot of different designs.

What comes in the box

So this set includes:

  • Four clear stamps, like as I said above I can use them to create other things like borders or even backgrounds.
  • A lot of white swatch cards with markings or boxes where you can stamp the swatch.
  • Several little samples of colored cardstock in beautiful colors.
  • The silver ring.

The colored cardstock swatch set is particularly useful, since it allows me to know how the cardstock will look when combined with coordinating ink colors. The colors are really gorgeous and pretty much each cardstock color has a matching ink.

For my white ink,  I just cut a piece of black cardstock that I had using one of the swatch papers as template, very easy to do.

Needless to say, it was a lot of fun putting this together and of course, having my swatches handy and organized can make a lot difference when I’m crafting! At least, I know what I have available, and I can see how the products behave and how they look once they dry, which hopefully will translate in better design decisions and less “Pinterest fail” like mess-ups.

If you want to buy this kit here is where I ordered it.

Creating elegant Thanksgiving party decor

Creating elegant Thanksgiving party decor is going to be an easy and super fun task when you use our digital papers!  I wanted to share with you this amazing Thanksgiving table that Keisha created for Mygrafico Party Impressions Blog.

Creating-elegant-thanksgiving-party-decorShe used my set Fall Harvest Digital Papers to create everything from boxes, to menus and cards.

The result; a beautiful party set in bronze and turquoise, just the perfect match for the warm colors of Fall.

Here is one of the boxes created with our digital papers. I love this Thank you box! Fill it with one or two homemade cookies for your guests to take home.

She combined two digital papers from the same set, the floral pattern was used to create a wrapper and also she used the houndstooth background to create an elegant thank you card.
