How to print 12×12″ digital scrapbooking papers onto 8.5 x 11″ photo paper.

You can print using the built-in software in your computer. If you have Windows, go to the folder you received when you purchased the digital papers, then click on the paper you want to print, right click and select print, then choose the following settings:

  • Select your paper size: in this case I’m using letter size photo paper.
  • Printing quality: I like to select “best” so that I can get the exact bold color I picked when I designed the paper, however if you select “normal”  you will also get a good quality print but the colors will be a tiny bit lighter than the original design.
  • Paper type: I love the results I get when I use glossy photo paper. White cardstock can also work but the colors will be darker and less vibrant.
  • Size: I choose fit picture to frame, that will print the entire page rather than reducing the size of the pattern.

Here is how this pattern looks printed:

Once you printed the pattern you can create all sort of party decorations such as boxes, cards and labels, for example the goodie box shown below, was created by Keisha for Mygrafico party impressions. She used the houndstooth pattern to create the labels, then she used a piece of the leaf pattern to make the wrap, these papers look great combined with any rustic wrapping paper and paper craft or natural raffia ribbons.

4th of July freebie

4th of July freebie alert!

Are you ready to celebrate the 4th of July? I know I am! I’m planning to enjoy a peaceful summer afternoon gathering with family and friends to celebrate the birthday of our country!

I decided to make some fun 4th of July inspired party decorations, so I thought I might as well share them with you. This is a printable set of cupcake toppers, can be used to decorate goodie bags as well.

I just made these three to show you how they look, these are super easy to make!

There are six different designs included in the set. Here’s a close up of the printed page. I printed them on inexpensive white Neenah cardstock.

How to make the cupcake toppers

First off you need to download the file, please find the download link at the bottom of this post. Once you downloaded the freebie you will need to unzip the folder in order to access the printable sheets.

I included two file formats, JPEG and PDF files since many of my customers find the PDF’s easier to print. Select file format you like and send it to your printer. When you are in your print dialog box, make sure to deselect “scale to fit” so that the printer does not resize the designs.

Cut them out with a trimmer, you can use them as squares or give them a fancy shape using a punch.

I always design my cupcake toppers to fit a standard 2 inch scallop punch (which seems to be my customer’s favorite punch), that’s why it is important to set your printer to print actual size, if your printer reduces the size of the toppers, they’ll be too small for this punch.

I simply mount the toppers on lollipop sticks or small bamboo skewers using a piece of scotch tape, then I’ll punch out an extra shape in plain white cardstock to cover the back of the topper, gluing it with mounting tape to keep the paper from bending.

This is how the back of the topper is going to look like.

Remember, it does not have to be perfect, the most important thing is to have fun!

How to download

Please download the file from my Dropbox here

Or you can also download from the following stores (if you have an account with them).

I hope you enjoy this freebie! Happy crafting and have a wonderful 4th of July!
