These overlays are very easy to use, but you will need to have a software that can work with layers, the best application in my opinion is Photoshop since it will allow you to easily recolor layers and apply textures to them.

Some of my customers have managed to make lovely artworks with these overlays using Microsoft Word! They inserted the overlay into the Word document and then they used the image tool to change the color. That way you can make labels or cards, however my recommendation for optimal results is to use Photoshop.

THREE WAYS YOU CAN USE THESE OVERLAYS

I have a couple of tutorials here and here to show you how to do this, one of the tutorials even comes with a freebie for you to experiment and learn! But here is a quick note to show you different effects you can achieve using overlays.

One way you can change the appearance of these overlays is by playing with blending modes. This will turn the overlay color to a shade of the color of the paper layer you have underneath the overlay.

You can also turn the overlay white simply by inverting the color in Photoshop! They will look great on a rustic paper texture as shown below.

And of course they will look great if you clip a glitter texture to them, perfect for Christmas design!
