Easy shabby vintage gift tag

Easy shabby vintage gift tag tutorial.

Hi! I wanted to share with you how I made this super easy vintage tag. With the right tools you’ll be able to make a large quantity of gift tags for your DIY wedding or party in just a few hours and no one will ever know you made them at home!

To make these tags, I used our printable French garden vintage ATC cards set. This printable set comes with nine different vintage backgrounds measuring 2.5 x 3.5 inches. You will get each background saved in an individual JPEG file, plus one print ready sheet in both JPEG and PDF files with all nine designs together in the same sheet.

I just opened the PDF collage sheet in Adobe Reader and printed it out onto white Neena cardstock. Set your printer to print at best quality and change the paper type settings from default regular copy paper to the type of paper you will use to print the cards. This is very important in order to obtain a good print.

I then proceeded to cut out the tags with my Marvi Uchida Extra Giga Punch Tag, this awesome punch will cut a 2.125 x 3.125 inches tag so it’s perfect for the size of these card backgrounds.

Here you can see a tag already cut, it’s so easy when you have the right tools! You will get nine tags from each printed collage sheet.

Now you will need to punch a hole on the very top part of the card so that you can add a ribbon later. As you can see I just used a cheap one hole punch, if the tool is sharp enough it’ll work just fine, however if you used thicker cardstock or if you have a whole laundry pile of tags to make you might want to use a good quality punch so that it does not break the tag. Experience is talking here…

Finally I threaded a matching satin ribbon through the hole and glued a fabric rose from Prima Marketing that I had in my stock. I was not able to find a website selling the exact same flowers I used here, but you can find an amazing assortment of similar floral embellishments at Scrapbook.com or any other scrapbooking store or even at the dollar store. I also added a self adhesive heart shaped pearl embellishment also from Prima Marketing.

And here is the final result, super easy vintage tag in flash!
