Using patterned papers to create handmade stamps

Hello friends! I hope you are having a wonderful time. I wanted to share this beautiful card made by Lynda Lindley. She’s a Copic certified designer so I love how she paints and how she can bring the stamps to life, but to make this card she used patterned paper instead of Copic markers, a technique that I didn’t see much before but really love the way it looks.

The scrapbook papers are from my set Wedding digital papers. One of the papers was used to create the background and then she used two more papers to make the lovely outfit!

Patterned paper technique

It’s very simple to do this technique. First you will need to stamp the image onto the white card stock once to make the base of the card. Then stamp the image again onto two different patterned papers on for the shorts and shoes and the other for the shirt and headband. Finally, fussy cut the different pieces of the outfit including the headband, shirt, shorts and shoes and layer the pieces on top of the original image. If needed, you can retouch the stamp with a Copic pen.

This way you can add a lot of detail to your cards. Here is a close-up of the paper piecing, isn’t this gorgeous? I really love it.

The stamp is called Casual Day by Chi Chi Memories, they make  beautiful stamp sets!

The digital papers are available on my Etsy shop
